Director
WEST SIDE STORY
Directing and choreographing West Side Story at The Gateway Playhouse was truly one of the greatest thrills of my career. This piece has lived in my heart for so many years, and having the opportunity to bring it to life with such an extraordinary company of artists was incredibly meaningful. From honoring Jerome Robbins’ iconic original choreography to exploring the humanity and urgency within the story, every moment of the process was deeply personal and inspiring. Returning home to the Gateway family to tell this timeless story made the experience even more special, and I will carry it with me forever.
IN THE HEIGHTS
I’m so proud of my Mexican Heritage. When In The Heights Premiered i was honored and excited that this piece existed. I’ve been lucky to have my director and Choreographer hat now for the 3rd time!! It’s an honor to have rave reviews and to share my culture to the stage WEPA!! Here is an interview I did with BroadwayandMain.com
Sister Act The Musical
Directing and choreographing Sister Act has been an absolute blast! From nuns breaking out in jazz hands to high-energy gospel numbers that make the audience want to stand up and sing along, every day on this show is full of laughs, surprises, and pure joy. I love finding those moments where the comedy, music, and movement collide—whether it’s a cheeky step in the choir loft or a full-blown dance explosion in the finale. Watching the cast discover their characters and bring this story to life keeps me smiling every rehearsal, and there’s nothing better than seeing the audience leave the theater with a little extra bounce in their step.
HEAD OVER HEELS
Working on head over heels was nothing short, but a dream job! When I first saw it, I knew I wanted to take my own creative. Take on the choreography, movement and dance in the show as well as directing and finding new moments. I think, however, heels is an underrated musical with an important story of acceptance, expression, and creativity.
