Every production begins in the rehearsal room. It's where ideas come to life, characters are discovered, and a cast becomes a company. I believe in creating a rehearsal environment that is both disciplined and fun—I work incredibly hard and challenge every performer to give their very best, while making sure the room is filled with collaboration, creativity, laughter, and respect. As both a director and choreographer, my focus is always on telling the story through every movement, every scene, and every moment. The performances audiences see on opening night are built through countless hours of hard work, trust, and teamwork. HEAD OVER HEELS
Rehearsing Head Over Heels was an absolute blast. This vibrant, high-energy musical gave us the chance to embrace bold comedy, fearless storytelling, and nonstop movement. Every rehearsal was filled with laughter, creativity, and collaboration as we worked to create a production that was as joyful and unapologetically fun as the show itself. RENT FLAT ROCK PLAYHOUSE
Rent is often thought of as a show without traditional choreography, but I discovered that its movement is really about storytelling. Rather than creating dance for the sake of dance, I focused on creating movement that revealed character, relationships, and the heartbeat of the East Village. Every entrance, every toast, every embrace, and every moment of chaos had intention behind it.
Working on Rent challenged me as both a director and choreographer. It pushed me to think beyond steps and instead ask, "How does movement tell this story?" Together with an extraordinary cast, we built a version that felt honest, alive, and deeply human. It became one of the most beautiful and rewarding experiences of my career—not because of elaborate choreography, but because every person on stage was part of telling one story.
Most of all, I had an incredible time in the rehearsal room. We laughed, explored, took risks, and created something together that belonged uniquely to our company. Those moments of discovery are why I love directing, and they are the memories I'll carry with me long after the final curtain.
